Eduarda Neves. Professor of contemporary art theory and criticism, an area in which she has several articles and books published. Independent curator. Her research and curatorial activity cross the territories of art, philosophy and politics. She collaborates with the magazine "CONTEMPORÂNEA" since February 2019. Latest book published: O AUTO-RETRATO. FOTOGRAFIA E SUBJECTIVAÇÃO [SELF-PORTRAIT. PHOTOGRAPHY AND SUBJECTIVATION]. Lisbon: Ed. Palimpsesto | CEAA, 2016 [Short listed at the PEN CLUB award in the Essay category, 2017]. In 2019 she will publish the books NEM-ISTO-NEM-AQUILO [NEITHER-THIS-NOR-THAT] and BESTIÁRIOS. ENSAIOS SOBRE ARTE CONTEMPORÂNEA [BESTIARIES. ESSAYS ON CONTEMPORARY ART]. Degree in Philosophy and PhD in Aesthetics. Assistant Professor at ESAP. Principal Investigator ofCEAA’s ART AND CRITICAL STUDIES Research Group, since 2013. She has conceived the projects  A FEW REASONS FOR A NON-DISMISSIVE ART [2014-15], CORRESPONDENCES [2016-17] and HORS-SÉRIE [2018], presented in Portugal, Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Malta and Ukraine. She took part in the exhibition projectFOUR ELEMENTS (curator of element EARTH), Galeria Municipal, Oporto [2017]. Other recent curatorial projects: FAULT LINE (Casa dos Crivos + Convento de São Francisco) and A FEW STEPS AWAY AS IF VERY FAR, ENCONTROS DA IMAGEM, Braga and Oporto [2017]; A.A.R., Espaço Mira (Oporto) and WITHOUT IMAGO MUNDI, A RANDOM DIVERSION INSTEAD, Planetarium (Oporto) [2018]. In 2019 she conceived the project EUROPA wich articulates a international conference (I) Notes on Europe. The dogmatic sleep and a curatorial project (II) Walking Around the Sun: Machines, Spiders and Buccaneers. She is currently Director of the Oporto Art School - ESAP.
