Short Curriculum
Pedro Vieira de Almeida (1933-2011). Architect (ESBAP, 1963), PhD in Architecture (ETSA, University of Valladolid), Has a long work published in the field of theory, criticism and history of architecture. He was Professor of Architecture Theory at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto for more than a decade. Among his work as an architect are the morphological plan for Avenida da Liberdade (Lisbon), the plan for Vila Moura (not built) and the plan for Telheiras (Lisboa), as well as the churches of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (with Nuno Teotónio Pereira and Nuno Portas - Valmor award), Olivais Sul and Brandoa. At the time of his death, he was Director of CEAA and had just received a post-doctoral grant from FCT with the project António Ferro and Margarida Sarfatti: Architecture (of) Estado Novo.
