Marta Lalanda Prista. Holds a PhD in Anthropology (2011) and a Master degree in Anthropology of Space (2005) from Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas of Univesidade Nova de Lisboa, having graduated in Architecture from Faculdade de Arquitectura de Lisboa (2000). She is currently an associated researcher with a post-doctoral fellowship at CRIA (Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia) and a member of CRIA’s Executive Board.
Marta Prista develops research on the intersections between anthropology and architecture with emphasis on the negotiations between institutional power, intellectual authority and social agency within the social production of space. Under this scope, she has published work, participated in research projects and dissemination actions, and lectured elective courses, on issues of national identity, social memory, heritagisation processes, commoditisation of culture, social distinction, and Portuguese architectural historiography.
