Michele Cannatà graduated from the Istituto Universitario Statale di Architettura di Reggio Calabria (IUSARC, 1977) and PhD in Composizione Architettonica (Università di Chieti-Pescara, 2009). He has been a professor at ESAP since 1997. Member of ESAP's Scientific Council he was director of the Department of Architecture and director of the Laboratory of Research in Architecture (LIA). He develops professional activity, dissemination and research on modern and contemporary architecture in Portugal, having co-authored with Fátima Fernandes awards and recognition among which: Honorable Mention at the "A.Palladio" International Prize in 1989; Piranesi International Prize in 1996; Premio Europeo Città di Terni in 2004 with the book Moderno Escondido. Projects and works were the object of exhibitions and publications in books and magazines with international dissemination.
