Project

ArchMedium

This research and development project delves into the multifaceted realm of architectural representation and communication across various contemporary media platforms. Recognising that architecture is not confined to its physical construct but extends into intellectual, critical, and historical discourse, this project seeks to illuminate how this discipline permeates and is influenced by the diverse media landscape of today. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including content analysis, surveys, and in-depth case studies, the project aims to discern patterns and trends in architectural representation across different media types - from print and digital publications, exhibition spaces, to new types of online publishing. This research will contribute to a better understanding of the reciprocal relationship between architecture and media, exploring how architecture's intellectual production is communicated and perceived in various contexts, while also revealing the impact of media on architectural culture and practice. The findings of this study will not only provide valuable insights for architects, scholars, and critics but also for media practitioners and educators, helping them to effectively navigate, utilize, and innovate within the evolving media landscape.
