Pedro Vieira de Almeida (1933-2011) was one of the major theoreticians and critics of Portuguese architecture. His work as architect and urbanist reflects the theoretical thinking deeply linked to the issues of the architecture space, that he formulated a first theoretical framework in 1963.
He was also a professor at ESAP and one of the founders of the CEAA, of which he was director at the time of his death. His work marked the research developed at CEAA in the field of architecture.
With this project we intend to study his teoretical work in direct articulation with its architectural design practice.
Currently, the survey of his work in daily newspapers and magazines and the digitization of the archive are in progress. A first work is still being prepared on the works of religious architecture he designed, in this case with the support of the Autonomous Section of Theory and History of ESAP.
